At SSC2025 there will be regular breaks for social interaction. Additionally, we foresee and plan for the following social events on Monday (early career researcers meetup), Tuesday (welcome reception), Wednesday (social event) and Thursday (conference dinner).

For those arriving on Monday and particularly early-career researchers, we have made a reservation at the cozy beachside spot to kick off the week in style!

- Scenic Route: Take tram line 1 from Delft Station to Keizerstraat (Den Haag). From there, it’s a 7-minute walk along the beach promenade.
- Faster Route: Take a train to Den Haag HS, then transfer to tram line 11 to Vuurbaakstraat. Walk a few minutes to reach the beach bar.

Looking for a fun way to connect with fellow participants on Wednesday?We’re offering three exciting social event options on Wednesday — both designed to help you unwind, explore, and enjoy the charm of Delft in your own style.
Spaces are limited, so you’ll be able to indicate your preference during registration.
🚤 City Tour by Boat – Rondvaart Delft
Enjoy a relaxing guided boat tour through the historic canals of Delft with Rondvaart Delft. During this scenic ride, participants will explore the charming waterways while learning about the city’s rich history, architecture and hidden stories from a local perspective.
This peaceful tour offers a unique way to experience Delft – from the water!
🕓 Duration: Approx. 1 hour 🗺️ Departure location: Abtwoudsebrug, Schieweg, Delft
📍 Drop-off location: Koornmarkt 113, Delft (City Centre)
📝 Details: Enjoy a relaxed boat tour through the beautiful canals of Delft. There will be two boats taking us around the city, one boat fits 48 people and the other fits 40.

🏛️ Royal Delft Museum – Guided Visit
Experience Delft’s world-famous porcelain tradition at the Royal Delft Museum, the last remaining factory from the 17th century. Participants will get a guided tour through the museum, showcasing original Delft Blue pottery and its centuries-old craftsmanship.

🍽️ Thursday Night: SSC 2025 Conference Dinner – At the Old Church!
Join us for a celebratory dinner to toast the week’s shared knowledge, laughs and moments of inspiration.
We are thrilled to announce that the SSC 2025 Conference Dinner will take place at the iconic Old Church (Oude Kerk) in Delft!
Enjoy a memorable evening inside this stunning historic venue with soaring stained glass windows and rich Dutch heritage, all while networking with fellow researchers and enjoying a special dinner.
🕖 Time: 18:00-22:00.
📍 Venue: Oude Kerk, Delft, Heilige Geestkerkhof 25. Welcome and optional tour of the church from 18:00, dinner starts at 19:00.
